Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 | Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village Trek
Leave Hanoi in the early morning and travel through the spectacular mountains of Northern Vietnam toward the charming town of Sapa. As the scenery changes from bustling cities to rolling hills and lush valleys, enjoy breathtaking views of winding mountain roads, waterfalls, and endless rice terraces. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy lunch before beginning your first trekking adventure.
In the afternoon, walk to the picturesque Cat Cat Village, home to the Black Hmong ethnic people. Follow peaceful stone pathways through terraced rice fields, traditional wooden houses, and crystal-clear mountain streams while learning about local customs and daily life. Visit traditional handicraft workshops where skilled artisans weave colorful textiles and create beautiful handmade souvenirs. Continue to Cat Cat Waterfall and admire the historic French-built hydroelectric station hidden among the mountains before returning to Sapa Town for a relaxing evening surrounded by cool mountain air.
Day 2 | Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van Trek – Return to Hanoi
Wake up to panoramic mountain views before enjoying breakfast at your hotel. Today’s trek takes you deep into the breathtaking Muong Hoa Valley, one of Vietnam’s most spectacular hiking destinations. Begin with a scenic descent into Y Linh Ho Village, where peaceful rice terraces stretch across the mountainside and traditional Hmong families continue a way of life preserved for generations.
Continue hiking through magnificent valleys toward Lao Chai Village, passing buffalo trails, bamboo forests, suspension bridges, and endless rice paddies. Meet welcoming local families, observe traditional farming methods, and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by extraordinary mountain scenery.
In the afternoon, continue to the charming Ta Van Village, home to the Giay ethnic minority. Wander through peaceful village paths lined with wooden stilt houses and terraced fields while learning about the unique customs, architecture, and culture of the local people. After completing approximately 12 kilometers of trekking, return comfortably to Sapa before departing for Hanoi with unforgettable memories of Vietnam’s majestic mountains and warm ethnic hospitality.
